Pound cakes were the cakes made by our mothers, our grandmothers, and our great-grandmothers. The name ‘pound’ was given to this cake because the original recipes contained one pound each of butter, sugar, eggs, and flour I have always loved good ole pound cake, one day I discovered a recipe for the Best of The Best Secret Pound Cake. I was in the Carolina Mountains and I met a couple that had made a good living with their pound cake. I was honored with the secret recipe when the couple who now have both passed on. I have made a good living with this recipe also.
